Antique Sewing Machines for Sale
A website reader named Jeanette recently emailed us about three antique sewing machines that she had acquired from her late father. The sewing machines are of Singer, Domestic, and Eldridge brands. Her father used to upholster furniture and she believed that he used the machines for this task.
Jeanette contacted us to help her gather more information about the said machines. We have received several pictures of each sewing machines and if anyone of you do know anything about them, please don’t hesitate to send us a message.
Here are some of the pictures that Jeanette sent us:
Singer Treadle Sewing Machine
Based on Jeanette’s research, this Singer sewing machine, with a serial no. of G3916101, is a Model 66. It is said to have commissioned somewhere during February 18, 1915. Only 25,000 units have been manufactured. Are you familiar with this machine? Share your information with us here.
Domestic Treadle Sewing Machine
This treadle sewing machine is a Domestic brand and known as a Coffin Top type. Some people might have also known this unit as a White Sewing machine. It has a serial no. of 1406079 and was said to have been commissioned in the year 1902. If you have any corrections and more information about this sewing machine, please contact us.
Eldredge Treadle Machine
Among the three sewing machines, this one even has less information. The only thing we have found out through research is that the Eldredge Sewing Machine Company has only operated in the years 1869 to 1890. So this antique sewing machine may be over 100 years old! We need all your inputs on this one as well as the other sewing machines, readers.
Do note that the three sewing machines featured need a bit of cleaning up and even restoration. But a true antique enthusiast always sees what’s beyond that and we do hope that someone can help Jeanette gather more information on her sewing machines via our website.
